It is common among students who browse more to come across people making a 6 figure income just by sitting at home. But, is this all real? I have two answers – Yes and No.
Yes, you can earn money online.
No, not everyone can earn 6 figure income online.
If achieving that is so easy then everyone would be at home and earning money. These millionaires post so many blog posts on what they did and how all they did turned to success. You would have now made up your mind to replicate all these tricks. But, mark my words, that might not work for you.

The Truth About Students Making Money Online ( With Success Story of Nirmal Kumar )
In this online marketing, what works for someone is not necessary that it should work for you also. Every one has their own tricks and everyone has their own methodologies.
So, who am I saying all these?
Okay, my name is Nirmal Kumar.
And, I am a student, who did start to earn money online on seeing all these income figures. But, I am not like these millionaires. I don’t make 6 figures. But, I make an income online to keep up my living expenses.
So, how did I start?
Right after my Higher Secondary examination, the summer vacation is the starting point of all. Felt too bored and so I started to think about doing some part-time job. I started to browse online for jobs.
Eventually, I came across a Data entry job. The website that offered that data entry job looked so promising. They did post so many payment proofs. Anyone who wants to start earning using their platform should buy their membership. And it would cost around 1000 Rupees for a year.
I thought it would be a valuable investment as I could make up the cost of investment over the period of a year. I ordered for a 1-year membership. They sent me a courier with the membership details and I got paid through COD.
The actual data entry work is to post a message in different classified sites. After working day and night for a month, I just made only 300 rupees and earning further looked impossible. So, I decided to withdraw at least till what I had earned.
But, they refused as the minimum withdrawal amount is 1500Rs. But, the hard truth is that there are no more classified sites available at that point of time to earn further with that data entry job.
Eventually, it turned out to be a SCAM!!!
That let me disappointed.

How did I overcome all this?
On the other hand, I started clicking some advertisements at Neobux and Clixsense and started to make some pennies every month. Even though the amount was so low, I still continued to it, Because they both were legit sites, and eventually, I made my first payout at Clixsense.
Simultaneously I tried many other PTC sites. But, over the period of time, they too turned out to be scams.
How did I start with Blogging?
I didn’t stop just with those PTC sites, I browsed for other opportunities too. I came across Google Adsense and how all these people are earning money with Adsense. But, I understood that getting approval with Google Adsense is so difficult. I decided to give a try on it.
And so, I started a blog on Blogger and went on with it. Later with the amount I made using Clixsense, I purchased domain and web hosting and moved my blog to WordPress.
And finally, after a year of struggle, I managed to get Google Adsense approval.
Yes, you read it right.
It took a year for me to get approval. But, that doesn’t stop me anywhere.
Why I don’t prefer Google Adsense?
Apart from Google Adsense, I came to know Affiliate Marketing is another profitable way for Bloggers to monetize their blog. I started to learn more about Affiliate Marketing.
But, making money out of Affiliate Marketing is not so easy. You need to build an audience and craft quality content. It needed more and more time.
Even though I could not expect a definite success with Blogging, I still went on with it.
Remember, I was doing Engineering along with Blogging. You could visualize how hectic it would have been.
Even with a very low income, I started to write Income Reports, just to make sure that I keep things recorded. I wrote my first Income Report with just $1 revenue.

How Blogging opened new Opportunities for me?
I hardly made some sales with Affiliate Marketing, but the content and my website design still attracted many affiliate managers. For the last three years, my blog had just maintained constant traffic of around 3000 page views every month.
But, still, I got many opportunities from Affiliate Managers and Marketing Managers to write many sponsored posts.
My income from Google Adsense and Affiliate Marketing was nothing to consider. But, I get 2-3 sponsored posts every month without any extra effort. And I get paid around $25 for each article. Just by spending an hour or two, I am able to make $25.
That’s looks profitable, with the least effort.
What reality students should understand?
Many Bloggers bragged about making $1000 every month from Google Adsense. But, that never worked for me. Even after using Google Adsense for 3 years, I could only make $60 out of it and yet to make a payout.
The hard truth is that Google Adsense did not work for me. But exploring other opportunities led me to something that clicked for me.
So, the ultimate point is that,
“What works for someone is not necessarily should work for you”
But don’t give up hope. Because you might even find some better opportunities. All this occurs only when you try. Only when you give an attempt, you can get started with the path to reach success.
